About Steady Hand PR
Our approach
We focus exclusively on nonprofits and foundations, organizations working to solve the world’s biggest challenges. We understand you, from tight budgets and board dynamics to legislative timelines and grassroots advocacy. We bring deep sector experience (working in English and Spanish) without the bureaucracy of a large agency. We're nimble enough to jump on a last-minute opportunity, yet connected to a proven network of designers, web developers, trainers, social media strategists, videographers and others who can grow with your needs.
Every project is different so we always start by listening. We take the time to understand what makes you special, where you're succeeding, and where there might be hurdles in the way. Then we dig in, auditing your materials, scanning your landscape, and evaluating what's working. Then we bring you recommendations that are specific, actionable, and realistic for your budget and capacity.
But we don't stop at a hefty report full of things you can't afford. We actually implement. Whether it's pitching journalists, training your spokespeople, rewriting your messaging, or coordinating with our network to execute a full campaign, we make it happen.

Meet the founder of Steady Hand PR
Oliver Bernstein
My experience includes leading communications for Every Texan through three legislative sessions and serving as press secretary for the Sierra Club, where I guided executives through high-stakes media moments from 60 Minutes interviews to press conferences at the U.S. Capitol and crafted campaigns that protected communities and advanced policy change.
My steadiness under pressure comes from years of navigating crisis situations and last-minute changes, as well as my experience as a champion coxswain, where the right words at the right time can win it all.
As a fluent Spanish speaker, I've worked across languages and communities to amplify voices that matter. As a father, I teach my kids that language can heal the world or divide it.
